Who am I?

My name is Lex Verboom and I am a business student from Leeuwarden. While focussing on my studies I found it important to pursue a hobby, which, I'm afraid, has become a parttime job. I have been offering my services for about two years now, after finding the confidence in my ability to build quality instruments, and am looking to take on some new customers!

What's on offer?

On offer are fully custom built guitars (S-style, T-style, JM-style and our new original models), custom built necks and bodies and custom refinish jobs.

Why buy a Verboom Guitar?

Buying a completely custom guitar from major brands can be very expensive. At Verboom Guitars I try to make customizability have a friendlier pricetag, while not sacrificing on build quality.

Bodies

I offer 1 piece, 2 piece and 3 piece bodies made of many different types of high quality tonewoods. A wide array of woods are on offer, from a traditional Swamp Ash or Red Alder, to a more exotic Walnut or Wenge. All bodies are completely handmade from raw and dry lumber and are thus completely customizable with different carves and comfort contours.

Necks

All necks are made up of 2 pieces to offer the functionality of a two-way trussrod and thus to offer a better playability. Each neck is fitted with stainless steel frets for extra durability and said frets are carefully rounded over, dressed and polished to offer a smooth experience. Necks also recieve beautifully rolled edges to ensure comfort when playing. Inlays and dots are customizable by the customer, aswell as the tonewoods used, which can be selected from a wide array. My standard necks are made of walnut, which I find to be most aesthetically pleasing and which provides a beautiful, warm tonal quality to the guitar.

In conclusion, the different aspects of the necks that can be customized are:

-Fretboard radius

 -Neck profile

-Size and type of fret

-Tonewoods (neck aswell as fretboard)

-Inlay material, location and size

All guitars on offer are finished in a thin coat of nitrocellulose lacquer. This provides the wood with the freedom to vibrate, which allows the wood to reach its full tonal potential. Finishes are offered in standard colors, but custom colors can be done on request. I also provide a refinishing service and a relicing service. Relics are done based on example images offered by the customer, to ensure that the guitar recieves a reliced finish that the customer is pleased with. All hardware is finished in accordance with the level of relic requested by the customer.

Necks are finished in an oil finish (tung oil or guitar finishing oil) on the backside and finished with a lovely nitrocellulose finish on the headstock.

Electronics

Pickups are mostly supplied by Paul at Radioshop from the UK, but any pickup can be installed into the guitar.

All electronics are CTS and of high quality to ensure that the guitar reaches it's full potential!

Hardware

As is the case with the pickups, all hardware can be chosen by the customer. I use certain standard items from brands like Gotoh and Kluson when the customer is unsure of what to use, so feel free to ask!

Besides this the hardware finish options are Chrome, Nickel, Black and Gold.
